We follow ArichiMasaomi, a carefree and aloof student, as he finds himself in his hometown of Hoori. He connects with some of his childhood friends and finds a mysterious sword. But all is not as it appears as supernatural occurrences start to occur right when a big tourist comes to visit. Arichi is forced to fix this problem as the sword he found has a mysterious spirit that is now attracting more creatures to the village. The characters are a true spectacle, as they aren’t just stereotypes. All of them have a role in the plot and interesting backstories. The quality of life features also include a flow chart that allows you to see which route you are on and which choices you have already made.

The 80s is one of the least explored periods in visual novels, which is why “Love, Money, Rock’n’Roll” was a breath of fresh air. It is set in an 80s backdrop as you’re the son of Russian immigrants and must complete high school as the times are changing and so are your relationships.

The story's main character, Nikolai, is the son of two engineers who emigrated to Japan from the Soviet Union when he was young. After his parents' tragic and sudden death in a sudden and suspicious production incident, he has to live alone. He attends an area school for foreigners and children from wealthy families. His life is turned upside down when he gets caughtin a series of events, including intrigues, political schemes, and complex relationships. Most of the interactions revolve around four girls, including Himitsu, an old friend, Catherine, your ex-girlfriend, Ellie, the chairman’s granddaughter. Andfinally, Kagome, the anti-social class representative. The story has many twists and turns as you navigate the return of your ex and changing of time as you realize that the world won’t wait for you to catch up. Nor will it let you forget your past.

Mix all the above with soul-searching Rock’n’Roll, and you have the most exciting romance visual novel/dating sim. One that will no doubt give anime fans a blast as they play through the game.

No visual novel released recently has been as successful as Doki Doki Literature Club, with a series to fall back on. In 2017 this game took the world by storm by having some of the best story writing and character development. This, paired with the superb soundtrack and great visuals, all at the low price of free, indeed left its mark on players. Now with the release of the Plus version, which has updated visuals and extra story content, this game is truly one of the visual novel greats.

The story starts with the main character wondering what to do after school is over, and your childhood friend Sayori suggests that you join the literature club with her. There you get to meet the lovable cast of characters, including the mature Yuri, the childish Natsuki,and the enigmatic Monicka Sayori with you too. The gameplay involves you creating poems with words one of the girls liked. This will lead you to progress their stories. As you play through the game,you might notice that something feels off, and if you keep playing, you might encounter a few things here and there, but that’s nothing to worry about, or is it?

This game is best played blind, as it is truly a unique experience. It is a must-play if you are a fan of anime, VA, or mysteries. Just be mindful and keep the warnings in mind.
