3 Best eSports MMO 2024
When it comes to gaming, MMOs tend to be more popular among players. This is because, from day one, MMOs are developed to accommodate a large number of players. In these games, developers do everything to facilitate players of every style and preference.
So whether you like interacting with other players, immersing yourself in the vast game world, enjoying endless content and replayability, or simply challenging your skills against other players; know that MMOs have got you covered!
For the purposes of this article, we present you with the 3 best eSport MMOs to play in 2024 and possibly make a career out of them!
In the world of gaming, Elsword is a household name. Developed by KOG Studio, it was first released in 2007 in South Korea but then slowly rolled out to the rest of the world by 2013 as its popularity skyrocketed. As of today, the MMORPG is only available to play on Windows.
In terms of gameplay, Elsword is played in real-time from a 2.5D perspective. While it incorporates many modern RPG elements, the ever-classic side-scrolling mechanic is there. The MMO is set in the fictional world of Elrios where a player starts from one of the starting 14 playable characters. Each has their own unique backstories and abilities. The overall plot revolves around joining the El Search Party to uncover the mysteries of Elrios while battling foes seeking to bring corruption to the land.

Due to its captivating gameplay and enriched storytelling, Elsword has been a hit ever since it came out. As of today, in addition to never-ending PvE events, players also engage each other in PvP arenas. Although the game has a steady and large player base, its eSport potential is a bit niche in comparison.
However, this is not to say that there are no prized tournaments for this game. Just a year ago, the End Of Year PvP Tournament 2023 was held, featuring $500 in prize pool and 50K premium K-Ching in-game currency.
Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is a 2020 MMORPG game by miHoYo and is a fully 3D open-world game. Unlike Elsword, this MMO is available to play on a wide number of platforms such as PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and even Android and iOS.
The game is set in the fictional world of Tevyat which is divided into 7 different nations, each ruled by a god called Archon. Players start by assuming the control of an interstellar Traveller who is journeying through space and gets separated from his twin sibling when they land on Tevyat. The rest of the game plot has players search for their sibling which takes them on an adventure of a lifetime!

Now, Genshin Impact might come as a surprise to some players as it has not been known for its prized tournaments. However, it recently started to warm up its eSport potential and not many players know about it. Not long ago, a University Invitational UK Tournament was held for Genshin Impact where 10 different universities competed for a whopping £10,000 prize pool. In addition, primogens and other in-game items were also rewarded to participants.
Flyff

Fly For Fun, or Flyff for short, is an old-school fantasy MMO game that was developed by Gala Lab Corp way back in 2004. The game was an instant hit upon launch and continues to thrive today with a large and loyal player base. It is currently available to play on Windows only.
Unlike typical MMOs, Flyff doesn’t have any dedicated game plot. Players simply exist together in a fictional world where they take on quests to fight monsters when online and run a shop, which is managed by their in-game character, when offline. In Flyff, players start as regular characters and get to choose their first class upon reaching level 15. Further specialized sub-classes are unlocked at levels 60 and 130.

Throughout its history, Flyff has undergone major updates. Over time, we have witnessed the introduction of many new gameplay mechanics such as the Lord System, Party System, Guild System, and Couple System to name a few.
There is a strong PvP presence in the game as many players actively engage in guild wars and related PvP modes. Many Flyff tournaments are held annually, such as the FWC 2024 tournament which took place in Manila, Philipines, and featured a handsome $110K prize pool.
