Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet (PC, PS4, Xbox, Switch)
Phantasy Star Online 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox) - For PS4, Japanese version only
Kurtzpel (PC)
SoulWorker (PC)
Closers (PC)

We mention about this because for anime PvP games, population is so critical as it requires other participants. Otherwise you will be able to PvP against no one else.

* Most of these games are supported by AEG Pro League. Check this page if you like competitive anime gaming.
* This data is based on Best Anime Games 2020-2021 (Ranked & Reviewed By Gamers) database. If you would like to check the rankings of all anime games and find out the best anime games regardless of genre, check the page.
* We are highly sure that those anime PvP games has the most number of PvP players among all anime games. However, this list excludes anime 1vs1 fighting games.

Now we will introduce more details about above few anime PvP games in terms of PvP mechanic so that you think find out which one you like.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet
There are 2 types of PvP arena, named Hero PvP and Avatar PvP.
Hero PvP is something similar to Overwatch. There are so many choose-able premade characters from its anime. One thing to note is that the game is quite balanced so there is not too much difference among the characters in terms of capacity (OPness). The actual win or loss depends on your skill and practice. Meanwhile, Avatar PVP is somewhat similar to the most MMORPG's PvP. You level up and gear up your character, customise skills and create builds, and fight in avatar PvP with your own characters. That means you will need to farm the items. Both PvP modes allow maximum 8 people in a battle.

Phantasy Star Online 2
PvP content in this game is very simple comparing to other anime games' PvP arena. There is only a level and gear equalized PVP arena. You don't necessarily level up and farm the item in order to perform better in this game's PvP. But it is not about selecting premade character as hero pvp in Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. You will need to wander around the arena, pick up the item on the ground, and you fight using that item. If you want to change weapon, you can simply more wander around and get another item to replace the current one. And fight against enemy team using those weapons. There is only one game mode, which is team deathmatch.

Kurtzpel
Kurtzpel has several game modes, deathmatch, CTF, and domination. While there are many types of game modes, the game isn't gear-equalized so that you will still need to farm through PvE. Also You will need to create build (a combination of Karma you choose out of many selections) in order to perform well.

One thing that we are very sure, as of 2021 May, there is no anime game community centered around anime PvP games except this community. We expect that there will be not so many anime PvP games newly releasing in the future so that it will become much harder to play anime PvP games. This is due to the success of the Genshin Impact: this is because it showed and actually proved that how PvE anime games can succeed without having competitive contents inside the game. Because it had so much success, I expect that many other game companies are also likely to make anime games excluding pvp contents in the future. This means, if you really like to play anime PvP games, we really hope you would like to stand with us in order to play anime PvP games together.

Thank you very much for reading.
