Best Anime Games (Ranked By Gamers)
#1
As of April 2021, bestĀ anime gamesĀ are
Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet,
Code Vein,
Genshin Impact,
Dragon Ball FighterZ,
Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash,
Kandagawa Jet Girls,
BlazBlue: Central Fiction,
Tokyo Ghoul:re Call to Exist,
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc,
Persona 5,
... More in the ranking table above!

Are you looking for the bestĀ anime games?Ā All the ranking hereĀ is ranked by gamers!

To qualify as an anime game, an anime game should have an anime graphic, at least more than 75% parts of an entireĀ game. If you googleĀ "best anime games", we do see that many websites introduce many non-anime gamesĀ such as Blade & Soul, ArcheAge, Final Fantasy XIV, TERA, etc as anime games. They do have an anime looking character like Elin and Lyn race,Ā but still theyĀ cannot be anime games since everything elseĀ are not anime graphic. Having a couple of anime looking races in a game should notĀ mean thatĀ entire game isĀ anĀ anime game. We also found that numerous websites covering topics related to the best anime games don't show howĀ their rankings are determined. Meanwhile, if you click on "Show Results" button above in this website, we provide a full list of voters, who are basically anime gamers actively participating in this community. This makes our ranking 100% transparent.

Beside anime game graphics, we alsoĀ focus on following factors that determine the most parts of anime game quality:Ā combat system, diversity (classes, skills, equipments, heroes, items, game modes, maps, cards, etc), update, and character customization. If anime games has multiplayer, then we also consider its multiplayer population because you don't want to waste money for dead games. Along with these factors, we think that most players can play anime games quite long. Thus the game is worth its price since you can play for a very long time. Then general factors such as graphic, music, and etc follow. Please make sure that we introduce only 100 best anime games ranked by gamers, we will keep replacing new anime games with existingĀ anime games with lowest scoreĀ and see if new oneĀ ranks up for a long time. Whenever replacing happens, we will notify here.

If you register on the website, you can vote your favorite anime games above!
This means that the ranking here is determined by real anime gamers, no fake!

Below, we introduce 5 best anime games voted byĀ AprilĀ 4th, 2021. This list will be updated whenever there is a change in top 5 anime game ranking above:

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet (FB)Ā [Image: rounded_pro_league_logo.png]

SAO:FB ranks the top position among SAO game series and has the most multiplayer population (as of March 2021). It is also ranked at the top position in Best Anime Games 2021 (as of March 2021). The game is basically like StarWars, provided by laser lightsabers and futuristic gun battles. The game supports singleplayer, co-op, and pvp modes, and is also an eSports game being held as a pro league in this AEG community. It's like a third person FPS game, but it's actually not a full third person FPS game as it offers an automatic aiming mode. This means your performance will actually depend more on how you behave well per each actions you make rather than your capability of how much you are accurate at aiming your fire since it already provides auto-aim mode. Also, game provides RPG aspects: you can level up, farm items, gear yourself up, upgrade and so on. In addition, there are many fan services such as building close relationships with game characters and sleeping together.

There is a way you can play this game for free on PS4 and XBOX, only if you are thinking of playing this game for mainly PvP like you play Overwatch, Fortnite, etc. Download trial version of the game, and you can access to hero PvP arena with 10 characters available. This game is fairly balanced between characters so there will be almost no problem although you can't access to other characters. Persoanlly I haven't seen any gamers who play very decent in more than 3-5 characters for this game, including those who participate in AEG Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Pro league. Thus, 10 characters available should be enough for free tier players. I am not sure about PvP population of Xbox for this game, but on PlayStation its PvE and PvP population are both pretty good. You will be able to play the game for a very long time with its free tier contents like the way you play Fortnite, Overwatch. But, if you are not PvP person, we recommend you get its complete edition and play PvE and Co-op with others!

Features:
  • You can play this game for freeĀ if you like competitive gaming and own PS4 or XBOX.
  • Lots ofĀ fans who actively participate in AEG Pro League
  • Getting full multiplayer rooms most of times during AEG Pro League
  • Generally has goodĀ multiplayer population during the evening time of NA region
  • Has inviting friends feature
  • Has amazingĀ characterĀ customization system
  • You can play with Japanese players! Region is not locked
  • Has co-op

Code Vein

Code Vein, like Tokyo Ghoul:re Call to Exist, is one of the few anime games with dark environments. I would like to say that this game is one of the anime games with the best graphic quality. The game style is similar to Dark Souls, but it can be said that the skill effect is much more flashy there. Co-op is supported, and there is no PvP. However, it is said that you can do 1vs1 dueling using mod when purchasing the PC version. Not only the graphics, but the story and music are very good games. If you like PvE, I think it is one of the must-buy games.

Features:
  • Generally has good multiplayer population during the evening time of NA region
  • Has inviting friends feature
  • Has co-op
  • A game got an any meaningful update (balance, new contents, everything except cosmetic) in last one year

Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is anime MMORPG. The game is completely open world and designed to deliver the best PvE experiences, which is the phrase its developer said, along with co-op. This means, there is no PvP. Genshin Impact is currently talking top spots among whole PlayStation game sales as of February, 2021. This means this is currently the most popular anime games on PS4 (actually it is currently the most popular anime game on whole gaming platform including PC, not only PS4). The game currently has the best graphic quality among all free anime games. The game has great character customization system. And it comes with a gacha model like usual MMORPGs. Thus, you will go deeper in grinding.Ā It is a great game that appeared like a comet in 2020, surpassing the rankings of all anime games in the viewer count of Twitch very quickly, and suddenly became the number one among anime games.

Features:
  • Generally has good multiplayer population during anytime
  • Has inviting friends feature
  • Has co-op
  • A game got an any meaningful update (balance, new contents, everything except cosmetic) in last one year

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Dragon Ball is a fairly old manga/anime, but the game also has a long history and is traditionally one of the most popular anime games. It is also one of the most famous anime fighting games. Even if we don't have to introduce it anymore on this website, there is a need to explain it because it is so popular, which you already probably know about the game.Ā This game is a must-see in anyĀ articles covering the list of popular anime games on any websites.

Features:
  • Generally has good multiplayer population during anytime
  • Has inviting friends feature
  • Has seasonal PvP leaderboard
  • Has co-op
  • A game got an any meaningful update (balance, new contents, everything except cosmetic) in last one year

Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash (PBS)Ā [Image: rounded_pro_league_logo.png]

Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash is a third person FPS game. It provides a variety of weapons such as Rocket Launcher, Assault Tripple, Sniper, etc, and there is an additional card system, they buff you or nerf the enemy, etc. There are many different attack and support cards that you will need to collect. Games include story mode, co-op, PvP. In multiplayer, up to 10 players are supported. Personally, I think this game is the anime game with the most fan service among all anime games.

Features:
  • Able to play multiplayer byĀ making friends through Recruitment forum in this website
  • Has amazing character customization system
  • Has gotten someĀ numberĀ ofĀ postsĀ made about the game in this website
  • Has PvP leaderboard
  • Has co-op

* This document will keep updating at any random time
* Following is whole list of criteria that we put in each game descriptions:
  • Lots of fans who actively participate in AEG Pro League

  • (group 1-lv2) Generally has good multiplayer population during the evening time of NA region

  • (group 3-lv4) Has gotten incredible number of posts made about the game in this website : 5 score (400~ posts)
    # For those who wonder why group 3 counts, because more contents to writes about means the game has quite diversity.
  • A game got an any meaningful update (balance, new contents, everything except cosmetic) in last one year
  • (group 4-lv1) Has PvP leaderboard
  • (group 4-lv2) Has seasonal PvP leaderboard
  • (group 4-lv3) Provides api access to the leaderboard so that developer can retrieve data from it : invisible category above where we introduce games to people, but we do give points for having it

  • It is a single-player only game that gained lots of popularity
  • Has co-op

I personally gave my vote to Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash. The reason is because I liked its combat style the most among the games listed here. Plus in-game diversity is quite huge, probably the top among anime games I played in terms of diversity, and it provides many game modes and maps. I played more than 4000 Ranked PvP matches in PBS and that proves how much I liked PBS. And yes, my next favorite game is Tokyo Ghoul:re Call to Exist but here I can vote only one game Tongue
