The Shaky Future of Moist Esports.

MoistCr1TiKaL more commonly known as Charlie is a man who needs no introduction to those who are up to date with the current gaming content live streamers. He is by far one of the most trusted and beloved content creators/influencers on social media right now. But many of you will be surprised to find out he is also the owner of his very own esports team by the name of Moist Esports. Yes, you read that correctly Charlie from the penguinz0 YouTube channel is a co-owner of his own Esports team, and it is a proper esports team. They have won many major esports tournaments in many different games ranging from modern FPS shooters to fighting games. Charlie also takes an active role in the management of the esports teams and is quite dedicated to making sure the team survives the infamous esports scene.

While the team is quite diverse in its portfolio of players, a few notable members it has are Hotashi aka ( Julian Harris ) and Justakid aka ( David Edwards ). Both of these are quite popular in the fighting game community, especially for Guilty Gear Strive and Street Fighter 6. Hotashi also holds the record for being one of the best Guilty Gear players in North America and also holds the honor of fighting and beating one of the 5 gods of melee. No small feat considering the 5 gods were undefeated for an entire decade. He has also in recent memory defeated the competition at DreamHack San Diego 2023 and taken first place for himself in the Guilty Gear Strive category. While also one of the only few skilled players of Guilty Gear Xrd, of which he won first place in Roundhouse 2023. Hotashi is also one of the first-ever members of the Moist Esports team and was the first ever to join and start their Fighting game division. But alas here is where the cracks in the armor start to show, as they have since 2021 only managed to attract 2 players to the fighting game division. Those being the previously mentioned players, and while the skills of both players are off the charts it still shows a troubling trend in the growth of the team as a whole.

This is because it seems that the minuscule fame the team had has started to die out, and one of the biggest contributors is Charlie himself. Since he only takes care of the basic management of the team and with his few moments with the team he burns bright enough to extinguish the flames of non-existent competition. Charlie has also gone into detail about the downfall of the company since he is not earning a single profit from the Esports team, a fact which should be raising alarm bells. Since supposedly the team and its different divisions have won multiple events this year. But unless there is a massive overhaul of the main management under the core owners and if the divisions are not allowed to hire more players Moist Esports might not be able to survive after a few years. But alas like everything time will be a deciding factor in what happens next.
