Melty Blood Type Lumina!!! From Niche Status to Industry Giant With the PSA Circuit 2.

Online Tournaments are something of a modern creation, as before the advent of the Internet and its widespread use, many people gathered at certain key stops to duke it out old-school style in games of yore. This was the main reason games and esports grew so fast, but now with the advent of the Internet, a whole new avenue was opened up for not only gamers but also developers. As of now, gamers from third-world countries could also compete for the title of the best of the best. And boy did it show, because as soon as the gamers from the Western world came into contact with the pro players from countries from China and Japan they knew they would only be playing catch up to them. A prime example of this is none other than Melty Blood Type Lumina, a game that was ported over to the West years after its original release. This period was enough for a dedicated fan following to be established in Japan, which resulted in the Japanese players winning again and again. So to combat this many different online tournaments started to take place all over North America in hopes of training the players enough to stand a fighting chance against the pro players from Japan.

One of these tournaments is PSA Curcit 2, an albeit weird name for a weird game indeed. It is a tournament that spans many months and is held bi-weekly, each winner of the bi-weekly tournament then faces the other winners from the months to ensure only the best of the best move forward. After that, each of the month's winners moves forward in a 6-round tournament bracket, the results of which will determine the best of the best North American Melty Blood player. These competitions are also supported by a fully operational discord server where players can gather, share strategies, and socialize.

Also, did I mention the cash prizes? Yes, you heard me right the circuit isn’t just your average run-of-the-mill player-led and organized tournament. It has major sponsors who make sure that each event goes off without a hitch. They also provide the winner of the matches with cash prizes, which range based on the number of participants in said event. In total, you can win a whopping 3,000 dollars in cash. And this prize money is not deducted or reduced in any way shape or form, the winner will be walking away with all the cash for himself.

Probably got you wondering how to apply with that bit of news, didn’t i? Well, the application process is quite straightforward, first, you need to go to the official Start.gg page of the PSA Circuit 2 and see which of the matches are currently ongoing and which will be happening shortly. From there you simply need to follow the application process which will put you in contact with the organizers and they will relay all further information to you.

For the online streaming of the matches, you need to head over to their official YouTube channel or their Twitch stream, where all the matches will be played live and will also be recorded in the archives for future players to learn from.
