Where I live it's atrociously hot (around 90°F/32°C).
Thankfully, due to the wonders of electromagnetism, I can stay cool with my fan! Through electric current sent through wires covered in plastic insulating material, coils of wire wrapped around a metal base are able to generate a magnetic field! This results in a circular motion, transferring the electric energy into mechanical energ7!!!
With the motor coils spinning, the fan blades of this highly innovative machine also begin to move. The fan blades of such a machine are designed in a way that air is pushed in a specific direction (the direction a fan's blades turn and the orientation of them make a big difference!). It is without a doubt that the luscious breeze created is a wonder of engineering.
On a side note, fans are actually very energy efficient. Once they're started up, it takes a relatively low amount of electricity to keep them running at a constant speed. Consider using one instead of an HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, aka that giant fan apparatus sitting outside your house) if you need to cut back on spending.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk
