If you think you might have heard of Freedom Wars before, you’re probably right. It is a top-class action RPG game that was originally released a decade ago on PS Vita. Now, the developers of this game, Dimps Corporation, are planning to bring back this cult classic on various platforms PS4, PS5, Nintendo, and PC by no later than January 2025.
Freedom Wars Remastered is set in a distant grim future where all of humanity is forced to live in a walled city called Panopticons. In this limited space, they are sentenced to a million years in imprisonment right from birth. Amidst such miseries, you will take on the role of a Sinner who is determined to reduce his sentence by taking on perilous missions that involve battling rival factions and rescuing abducted civilians.

The game is played from a third-person perspective and the combat mechanics are pretty much dynamic. In particular, the grappling “Thorn” weapon will let you fluidly traverse the backgrounds. If a monster is proving too difficult for you to take down, you can team up with up to eight players and take down the beast together! And yes, in case you’re wondering, Solo Leveling Arise also support PvP.

If the bleak plot of Freedom Wars Remastered is too much for you to digest, then we recommend Solo Leveling Arise, a dystopian-free ARPG game by Netmarble. It is based on the popular webtoon with the same name and as of writing, is scheduled to launch in 2025 on PC, Android, and iOS platforms.
Solo Leveling Arise closely follows the webtoon's narrative and storyline. In the game, you assume the role of Sung Jinwoo, a weak hunter, and witness his journey to become the strongest hunter to have ever lived.

The ARPG is set in a world where portals, known as Gates, connect to dimensions filled with monsters. As you embark on your quest to uncover the mysteries behind the gates, you will re-experience key events from the iconic series as well as explore exclusive storylines especially crafted for the game. While there is currently no support for PvP, you can team up with friends and take on monsters together in exciting PvE matches.

Unlike the other 2 games in the list above, The Touhou Empires is an RTS game by Neetpia. It is currently in development and scheduled to release somewhere in 2025. Although the exact release date is not disclosed yet, what we know for sure is that it will be available to play on Windows only.
In the Touhou Empires, players start by choosing one of the several factions in the game. Each of these factions have unique powers, strengths, and weaknesses. You have to choose strategically between them, ideally preferring the one that aligns the best with your playstyle. For instance, the Hakurei Shrine forces are great in building robust defenses so if defense is your strong point, go with Hakurei Shrine faction in the game.

For any RTS, it’s important to have a wide variety of units. Thankfully, The Touhou Empires does not disappoint here as there are various units to command, including mobile cavalry, long-range archers, and spell-casting grimoires. What’s more is that each of these units is in possession of spell cards which are unique to their type. When used right, these spell cards can potentially turn the tide of battles.
The overall gameplay of The Touhou Empires revolves around players engaging in strategic battles against other players in real-time. Up to six players can engage in any online battle.
