Onmyoji: The Card Game ditches the traditional class concept in assembling your card deck. The deck assembling system is replaced by Shikigamis. You build your deck with 4 Shikigamis. Shikigamis are in-game live 2D characters that wield 8 cards each. This gives players a total of 32 cards per deck.

The 8-card distribution system ensures that there are 4 Rare cards, 3 Super Rare cards, and 1 Super Super Rare card with each Shikigami. Moreover, players cannot put any number of ‘same’ cards into their decks. The limit is up to 2 cards of the same kind.

The cards themselves differ in their natures. Onmyoji contains the following 4 card types: Form, Evolution, Combat, and Spell.

The Form card, as its name suggests, adds an additional ability besides the basic ability to a Shikigami, altering its attack and health statistics. Evolution cards, on the contrary, evolve a Shikigami completely and replace its stats with something else entirely different.
