Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel King of the Island Return of the Monster Festival!!!

Yu-Gi-Oh! A series I am sure many of you are aware of its insane infamy in the '90s and the massive success of its card game which according to some even outgrew the series it was based on. But alas in the modern age, only nostalgia-wearing millennials remember the good old days of Yugi and Seito dueling it out to find the best amongst them. But that’s not to say the IP has been forgotten as in a stroke of pure luck and surprise Konami decided to release a full-fledged game that recreates card battling to a T. This was Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, which is probably one of the best card games to have come out in recent years period. It not only reenergizes the entire card game esports but also gives players a fleshed-out story to follow that teaches them all they need to know about the game. It also is quite well-loved by the fandom as the developers regularly hold massive tournaments for it and they haven’t stopped updating the game with new features, card packs, and much more.

One such update and special event organized by the developers is the King of Island event. An event that not only sets its eyes on shaking up the long-established meta but also aims to help new players get a head start in collecting all the cards of the monster type with the Monster Festival sub-event. Now to understand the entire event a little background information for the game is needed, the game functions in a virtual deck format where you can pick and choose which cards to build your deck around. Most cards are divided into set categories such as attack, defense, and support. Aside from these categories, we have types such as monster and such which dictate the amount of attack or special abilities the card will have.

Now that we have that clear let's move on to explaining the event, the duration of the event is 2 weeks in which the game will hold special daily challenges and matches which are themed after monster cards. Meaning for the whole duration of the event, players will be asked by the game to only use monster cards in matches to earn points and get special rewards. Rewards range from rare cards to premium currency, which can be used to buy card packs that have boosted rates for monster card types. And to top it all off all those players that build their cards around main monster archetypes will have a chance of their deck being selected into the race for the most broken meta build, and if your deck happens to win you will get a plethora of gifts that will even include some legendary monster types of cards.
