3 Best Esports Games for Android 2024

Android gaming a term that was non-existent a decade ago, has now taken over the gaming industry. As the recent 2024 metrics show that nearly half of all revenue from gaming comes from the Android and iOS market. This is exactly why the sudden rise of esports in such titles should not come as a surprise to many. Because of the rise of the player base, many developers are now targeting such markets to gain fame and recognition. Such as the developers of PUBG who are touted as the pioneers in the android esports scene. To that end, we have compiled a list of the best esports games on Android right now, and they are listed below.

Table of Contents
  1. Shadowverse
  2. Pokémon Unite
  3. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel

Shadowverse

First on the list, we have a game that has seen massive overhauls and updates since its release. Which has evolved from a simple card battler to one of the best on the market right now. It is none other than the Cygames masterpiece Shadowverse, a game like the developer's other titles is based on a completely original story. A fact that is quite rare in the esports scene as many would prefer to use the likeness of a popular franchise to kick start their esports. Shadowverse also has seen many major updates which aside from adding heaps of content have fixed nearly every issue fans had with the game. A feat that has resulted in one of the most streamlined systems in the genre. Any new player can easily pick up the basic mechanics from the short tutorial and learn the advanced ones by progressing through the seasonal story or playing against players online. Speaking of online the game features the well-optimized and stable net code which allows for faster load times in matches and nearly no packet loss. Said optimized net code is also the reason the esports for the game has progressed so far. The Rage Shadowverse esports tournament held yearly invites players from all over the world to compete for massive cash prizes, of which the largest ever was $2,293,296 .So what are you waiting for give the game a try, and who knows you might end up being the next world champion.

Pokémon Unite

Next on the list, we have a game that truly came out of left field as no one was expecting Pokémon of all franchises to launch their own MOBA-style game. On the Androids and iOS no less, what's more shocking is that the game is good. This might come as a surprise to many old gamers as they have gotten used to spin-off games being quick cash grabs. But it seems the Pokémon Company is hellbent on infiltrating every single aspect of esports. The latest game alongside the legendary VGC has shown the whole world that even old series can adapt and change. Speaking of Pokémon Unite specifically it is a well-optimized and balanced game that uses the most basic core system from DOTA and builds upon them to craft a unique identity for itself. As for the esports of said game, it seems that the Pokémon Company in tandem with Nintendo has started to conduct Championship events every month from where the best players will gather to compete for the title of world champion. Along with a chance to win a massive cash prize of $1,000,000 which is one of the highest cash prizes in esports history that is only rivaled by the likes of Steam esports. So what are you waiting for chances like this don’t come around all that often.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel

Figure 3-1. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel

Last on the list we have one of the most liked and positively reviewed games in the Google Play store and Steam it is none other than Konami’s sleeper hit Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. Not only is it the best Yu-Gi-Oh! game beating out the likes of Duel Links, it is also regarded as one of the best card games on the market. This is due to the specially made tutorial of the game that not only teaches the players all they need to know about the game's mechanics but also instills in them the key traits needed to be good at the game. Alongside the fact that the game features all the cards from the start of the franchise in the 90s. Players can rest assured that their favorite card is already playable or coming in one of the numerous updates that flesh out the cards and also optimize them based on the meta. Optimization is why Konami is pushing the game and its esports as the game features large tournaments such as the World Championship that was hosted by Konami themselves and for which they gave the first place winner, limited edition cards both in-game and real life. Alongside them, players were also given hand-made illustrations from the creators of the series themselves. All of which if were to be converted into cash would easily exceed 1000 dollars.
