3 Best FPS Deathmatch Games 2024

3 Best FPS Deathmatch Games 2024

The medium of gaming has seen a massive shift since the early 2000s, as the genre that everyone thought would take over the gaming landscape turned out to be nothing more than a passing fab. Instead, it was the genre birthed by Doom that would go on to define gaming as a whole. It is none other than the FPS genre, a genre second only to RPGs in variations. Most of the popular FPS games are multiplayer shooters with a unique twist to them, like Counter-Strike and Valorant. But among its many variations, Deathmatch stands heads and shoulders above the rest for the sheer amount of fun it can bring to players. And to prove that point below are the three best games of 2024 in said genre.

Table of Contents
  1. Trianga's Project: Battle Splash 2.0
  2. Second Wave
  3. 360 No Scope Arena

Trianga's Project: Battle Splash 2.0

After the FPS boom in the late 2000s, many FPS games started to adopt a more realistic approach to games. Which led to the creation of countless Call of Duty clones, leading to a saturation in the market. Saturation that only in recent years has seen a decline, due to the mass innovation caused by the indie renaissance. Case and point Trianga's Project: Battle Splash 2.0, a game that would have never seen the light of day in the 2010s. But now with recent developments has managed to not only make a niche for itself but has also attracted a small yet dedicated following. This is warranted as the game manages to blend science-fiction concepts with high-paced FPS combat perfectly. All of this is supported by a very stylized art style that manages to convey world-building aspects through environmental storytelling. The game would have been more than enough at this point but the developers went above and beyond with the inclusion of a deathmatch mode which allows players to fight each other with countless unique weapons, some of which are unique to this mode only. All in all Trianga's Project: Battle Splash 2.0 is one of the best examples of a new-age FPS game done right and a great buy for Steam players as it is an exclusive there.

Second Wave

Competitiveness is something that has been a part of the gaming medium since its inception, from the arcade battles of the 80s to the LAN matches of the 2000s. Gamers have always harbored a competitive spirit, but in recent years it has seen a sharp decline due to the sheer amount of toxicity it has generated. This is why when a game is announced that promises to give players high-stakes, fast-paced matches alongside casual ones, gamers can't help but get hyped. Which in all honesty is justified if you have seen the reveal and announcement trailer for Second Wave. An upcoming Hero-based FPS with multiplayer components developed and published by Challengers Games Corp. While the game is more of a team-based shooter, from the shown trailers we can see that it will have many different game modes, one of which with the most attention seems to the be the deathmatch mode. Players in this mode will be able to use different characters and their abilities in well-crafted maps to secure a win for themselves. So if you wish to be one of these players then wishlist the game now on your platform of choice, as it is available on every major platform including Android and iOS.

360 No Scope Arena

After the popularization of FPS games in the early 2010s, many different companies tried to capture the lighting in the bottle that was Call of Duty Modern Warfare. But alas it only led to cheap clones being made and sold to unsuspecting fans. But now it seems there is finally a game that has managed to recreate the feeling of the old multiplayer lobbies, without all the toxicity. It is none other than 360 No Scope Arena, corny names aside this game was developed by Tasty Delicious Games and has managed to give veteran players the thrill of classic deathmatches, and has introduced a whole new generation to the thrill of fast-paced and skill-reliant deathmatches. A feat that was achieved when the developers trimmed all the fat from the game and only focused on the weapons and the actual gunplay, resulting in smooth gameplay and sound effects that somehow managed to rival the AAA games of today. So if you wish to relive the glory days of multiplayer lobbies, or simply wish to see what it was like in the good old days then 360 No Scope Arena is the game for you.
