[Battle Royale/Doomlight] Shielded Sniper
#1






OVERVIEW
The build focuses on attacking distant opponents in a wide field using sniper weapons, while at the same time ensuring a win in 1vs1 dueling or small-scaled battles using Doomlight if you suddenly get caught up in a close-range fight.

SLOT VARIANTS
  1. Cryo Gun may be replaced with Hydra Missile in the second half of the battle with less than 20 players remaining.
  2. Cryo Gun may be replaced with other close melee weapons such as gun shield, Shotgun, etc.
  3. You can use regular sniper rifle until you get ion cannon. However, please be sure that range of regular sniper rifle has smaller range than ion cannon in terms of both of the straight distant range from you to your enemy, and also the area range that determines the hit horizontally. Explosive Sniper Rifle can also be used, which has wider area range than Ion Cannon but less damage and slower reaching speed.
USAGE
  • You will probably not be using the mecha a lot in a super large field like battle royale's unless you are in charge with sudden close range battle. Doomlight is one of the worst mobility mecha kinds.
  • Use skateboard if you can.
  • Weapon Combo - From far distance and enemy did not notice you, use Homing Missile then use ion cannon immediately with half or fully charged shot. Please make sure that as soon as you changed to ion cannon from homing missile, hold fire button so that it starts recharging, get into sniper zoom mode by clicking zoom button while you keep holding fire button, and finally release fire button as soon as you aim correctly. It is important to hit ion cannon at very similar time that your homing missile also hit. You can also skip getting into sniper zoom mode if you think you can hit without sniper zoom.
  • You don't want turn into Doomlight right in front of your enemy. You have a skateboard to hide somewhere fast in order to bring up Doomlight.
  • Moving and jumping with Skateboard + flamethrower/cryo gun works far better than you do same without using the skateboard.
  • Doomlight Combo - (1) Activate your shield skill (2) Deploy Turrets + regular shots while shield protects you (3) If your shield is gone, fight in the air by leaping (4) Once the leap ends, repeat 1 to 3 again. Your cooldown time of shield skill must have been reset while you were fighting in the air.
  • Use Homing missile while retreating to hide somewhere to bring up your mecha only if you when your enemy notices you with quite large distance.
  • Since you don't use mechas often, your small size makes it difficult for enemies to notice you in massive teamfights. Make the most of the terrain, such as houses and walls.
COUNTERS
  • A sniper in a form of mecha. They can ontshot you so be careful.
  • Mecha with very fast mobility that catches you when you try to hide to bring up your mecha.

Lillian has been replaced with Vita in order to ensure a win in a closed-ranged fight in a mecha form.

You can only leave the game without penalty if you leave while in waiting room.
By repeating this you will somehow get teammates.

However, make sure that there is a chance that the game will forcibly put you into solo "after the game started".
In that case you will anyways get penalty when you leave. But I see this case happens very rarely, especially when there is no other players.

It's a tanky and effective build against swordsmans, but very vulnerable to other gunners.

It's recommended to use when your enemy is a sword main or is using a sword.
