Without a doubt, there are tons of people who play games and watch anime at the same time. However, sadly, a lot of them don’t seem to focus that much on anime games. You don’t really hear about anime games all that much, and it’s for good reason. Anime games simply aren’t as popular as normal games.
I’m here to convince you that there is more to this corner of the world than meets the eye. They’ve certainly gained popularity over the years, but here are reasons why I think they deserve a bit more love.
You can form a connection with the games:
If you’re an Otaku reading this, I’m pretty sure at some point in your life, you’ve had a connection with the popular mainstream anime Attack on Titan, My hero academia, or Dragon ball.
Well, there are games for these anime. The idea of controlling your favorite character is bound to make an experience of gaming unlike any other. This is something only anime games can offer. Yeah, other games build character but anime games are literally based on characters and storylines we already love.
In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, you can literally live the tale of Goku from start to end YOURSELF. You can tell the tale yourself and face all the adversaries he faced in the anime!
Maybe you’ve always been a Naruto fan. In that case, the anime game is Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate ninja storm 4, where you could relive the tale of the mischievous boy who becomes the Hokage!
If you're a fan of relatively new shows like My hero academia, then you have exciting news to look forward to as the release of the game My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble is just around the corner.
They have exciting plots and stories:
Most games tend to get too focused on gameplay, graphics, and other things that they often forget to create and forge an exciting storyline along with characters you can connect to.
This isn’t the case with anime games. All the anime games have the blueprint of the plot already laid out in front of them. Focusing on stuff like gameplay, action, dynamics, and fluidity of the game is the sole thing the developers have to worry about.
We all know how powerful Goku will become in the game Dragon ball Z: Kakarot. We know how the storyline is going to be amazing.
We know we’re going to live all the characters from Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate ninja 4. This is one aspect that can’t go wrong with an anime game.
You can’t waste your money on them:
There are tons of situations where the game doesn't live up to its hype. Sadly, that’s true for some anime games as well. However, you can’t ever really waste your money on them.
The reason? It’s because you love the anime it’s based on! Let's say even if you don’t like the dynamics of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 4, you still got to enjoy the story of Naruto as a game. Even if you personally don’t like the graphics of Dragon ball Z: Kakarot, you’ll still fall in love with the experience.
One of the greatest upsets in the anime gaming industry was Jump force. It definitely didn’t live up to its hype, yet I believe each and every anime fan out there got some joy from it. This is why you just can’t waste money on anime games. You certainly won’t regret the purchase, I’m sure.
