5 Fast Paced PvP Games 2024
Gaming, oh how far it has come since the days of pong and Tetris. With the entire industry being estimated in the billions it is no wonder that the mainstream media has latched on to a medium they once called the devil. But alas times have changed as now games only chase after the profits and have all but abandoned the communities that stood with it in the dark days. All game genres but one, for it is so ingrained into the fabric of grassroots communities that one could not separate them even if he wanted to. This is the PvP genre and some of the most fast-paced games of it are as follows.
Table of Contents
- Omega Strikers
- KurtzPel
- Guilty Gear Strive
- NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS
- Initial Drift Online

It would not be wrong to say that League of Legends defined the late 2000s and the early 2010s online gaming scene. But in 2023 many players are finally feeling the burnout from the massive roster of characters and the long matches. To combat this some breakaway developers from Riot Games decided to band together and create a game that would fill in the niche LOL was leaving behind. This resulted in the creation of the Omega Strikers, a game that has 2 main goals, being fun and being competitive. And it is suffice to say the developers nailed both of their goals. They achieved this by focusing on the roaster of characters offered to players and making them all viable in a competitive scene. It also helped that the game has no single-player game mode and focuses entirely on the PVP aspect of the game. Speaking of the PVP mode the game is a 3v3 where teams of 3 will face each other in the form of air hockey where you will use your chosen character to either try to score or defend. While the game loop might sound boring compared to other games in the genre, it is the execution and time duration that set it apart from the rest. So if you are feeling up for a challenge then why not give Omega Strikers a try, who knows you might become the next great champion.

It is quite rare to see online MMORPGs have a successful launch in the modern gaming industry. The reasons can range from a lack of focus, a lack of funds, and a lack of vision. That is why the recent success of KurtzPel comes as such a breath of fresh air, as it shows that with dedicated developers even the most buched game launches can make a comeback. Talking about KurtzPel, it is a PVP and PVE battler with heavily stylized graphics that will do its best to evoke the feeling of high fantasy. This also stands true for the character design which not only links the setting of the game to the characters but are also some of the best in the genre. As for the actual gameplay, the PvP is the bread and butter of the game, as it gives a large roaster of characters with multiple roles and abilities which allow for a wide range of builds. Builds which then can be used to initiate and string together lightning-fast combos to not only put pressure on the enemy but also be used to reposition for more tactical cover. It also helps that the game has some of the most solid net code in the game, making it so that nearly all the online matches are lag-free, a true rarity in the modern gaming landscape. KurtzPel is truly the best game for MMORPG, PvP, and high fantasy lovers, so why not give it a try next time you start itching for a worthy competition?

Figure 3-1. Guilty Gear Strive
The latest entry in the historic franchise, Strive sets off to accomplish one purpose only. To conclude the story of our main protagonist Sol Bad Guy and at the end of the main story mode accomplishes that and sets the trajectory of the series going forward onto a new path. It also happens that the developers of the game wanted Strive not only to be a thematic end to a saga but also to embody the best aspects of it. This led to Strive having the best PvP mode in the entire franchise, a mode so good it awarded the series the right to be played at EVO as a launch title. Most of this is due to the drastic changes made to the game's main systems, such as giving all the characters the ability to cancel out of combos and special into a completely new chain. While it might seem like a minor addition, it manages to change everything for all the aspects of the combat work in tandem with each other. All this results in a PvP experience like none other and one I am sure all kinds of gamers can appreciate.

Naruto is a series that is bound to survive the test of time for it is a tale with morals that will forever remain true. And alongside it, gamers will always remember the Ultimate Ninja series for it was one of the first and arguably the last good licensed game based on a popular series. Much of this is due to the fantastic recreation of the scenes from the show, as the games made us feel we were right there with the characters. But due to the age of the previous games, many can not access them, which is why NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS is such a godsend. It allows gamers to witness the story of how Naruto became the Hoakge from start to finish. Other than the update to the story mode the game also is a massive reworking of the PvP mechanics as now many of the characters have been balanced so that every character is viable in the meta. So if you feel like having a fast-paced ninja battle NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS is your best bet.

Figure 5-1. Initial Drift Online
Racing is a sport that is nearly as old as civilization, from the horses of the Euro-Asian Plains to the Mazdas in the hills of Japan. However, in recent years it has become legalized as a sport with events such as the NASCAR race and F1 races. But despite that many still long for the 90s, for an era where racing was all about the cars and the thrill of driving. That is the target demographic of Initial Drift Online, as it sets itself apart from the different games in the genre by hyper-focusing on one era and delivering the best possible experience. It accomplishes that by having faithful recreations of the cars from that era, alongside offering players a chance to race against not only bots but also their friends in PvP. And trust me the curved mountain tracks of Japan will test your friendships like none other. Driving wise the game is mostly arcade in nature but does offer a realistic drifting mechanic to add complexity to the matches. Which results in some of the most fun races ever. So if you want to see the golden days of 90s racing, then be sure to give Initial Drift Online a chance.
