[Dragon Ball Esports] Why Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Is the Next Big Esports Craze

What are Esports Games
Any game that rewards its players with cash prizes upon winning is an esports game. The ultimate desire to secure the highest prize pool drives players to clash with all the professional players of the game in an organized battle arena. People gather in large numbers to watch esports tournaments and entertain themselves with competitive gameplay.

Criteria for Esports Games
So, what makes a game suitable as an Esports title? There are several thumbs-up rules that need to be ticked off the list before making any game an esports title.
  • Firstly, there is an inevitable requirement for enough professional players who are always down for competitive gameplay and a strong fanbase community who supports them.
  • Secondly, the esports game title should have mesmerizing gameplay that glues its gaming community to its seats.
  • Moreover, the game should not be simple enough that it soon gets boring nor complicated enough that fans struggle in understanding the gameplay. Ideally, a game that takes off a simple start and then steadily becomes complex is what hooks up the gamers and the fanbase.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 checks off all the criteria required for a game to be an esports title.

Firstly, the Dragon Ball series is a worldwide phenomenon with the popularity bomb exploding with the introduction of Dragon Ball Z in 1989. Dragon Ball franchise takes pride in possessing a worldwide massive organic community that by no means was generated through large-scale advertising. As a kid, almost every one of us tried pulling off a Kamehameha. Didn’t you? We always wanted to fight like the Dragon Ball characters and fly through the sky. Owing to our human nature, sadly, we couldn’t. And what if I say that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 lets you do all of this? You can become your favorite character, fly through the sky and fight like them the way you so longed to. If given the chance, would you not want to have a shot at it? Of course, you do!

Dragon Ball popularity is deep-rooted in its community that never seems to fade away. So much so that Japanese Studios are still producing its manga and anime sequels along with many film adaptations. Moreover, since it is worldwide popular, making the Xenoverse 2 an esports title has a strong potential to attract non-anime fans as well due to its hyper fast engaging fighting gameplay that is fun to watch. This brings us to the second point. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 features an incredibly fast game momentum with the most visually stunning animated graphics. When played by professionals, the game can easily take one’s breath away. You know things are just getting warmed up when Xenoverse 2 players are assembling on the stadium ground fully geared and prepared to take the game fight right off the ground by a storm.

Fans cannot, by any means, predict the outcome as it totally depends on the players' skills and the in-game characters’ abilities they choose to play with. How one makes the best of this combination is yet to be seen. Through hyper-fast body movements both on the battleground and in aerial combats along with blasting projectiles, your eyes would have trouble keeping up with the game's momentum.

Depending on the game mode, whether it is 1V1, 2V2, 3V3, or even a battle royale, it is yet to be seen what will be the most breath-taking gameplay for its fanbase community. There is an endless sea of strategies and combos that can be looked upon to take the fighting to the next level and fully immerse the fans in the gameplay. Even in a Battle Royale, as an esports gamer, will you team up with someone and defeat others first and then put on an unforgettable 1V1 fight show with your partner-turned-rival?

Coming to the third point, here is a YouTube link where you can witness fast paced fights between Majin Vegeta, Goku Super Saiyan 4, Time Patroller, Janemba, Gogeta Super Saiyan, Pan, and Goku in 1V1 matches. These fights initially take off a simple start but gradually become more and more eye-catching, effectively immersing their viewers in the gameplay.

Conclusion
With soaring popularity and an incredibly large active fanbase community, esports organizations are already set in for massive profits. Only a dedicated action plan is needed to implement all this.
