3 Best Anime Games Online in 2023

Games have always been a social activity, from the days of Tetris in arcades to playing Fortnite with friends nowadays. Video games are at their best when you are playing them with your friends or family in those rare cases. But nowadays, games are evolving to give players a whole host of activities to do and play with each other. This all started with the massive success of World of Warcraft, and now studios are making efforts to give players an even more interactive experience online. Anime games have also adopted this and have released some of the best online games in recent years. Three of the best are mentioned below.

Genshin Impact, in recent years, has taken over the world. With a fantastic story, great visual graphics, and a lovable cast of characters, it seems to have it all while being completely free. The main narrative of Genshin Impact is a slow burn but spends time setting up the characters and the world. You start your story on the isolated beach as you do not remember how you got there. Soon you fish out a strange being that turns out to be Paimon, and soon after, you and Paimon set out to find out how you ended up on the beach and to also find your sister. This journey will take you from the rolling hills of Mondstadt to the lush jungles and deserts of Sumeru. You are sure to find many characters in the journey, both good and bad. But will you be able to find your sister and uncover the machinations of the old gods?

Combat the third-person hack and slash-based with emphasis on using elemental abilities to synergize with your party. You can choose a party of four characters while using one at a current time. However, you can change characters on the spot to combine combos and elemental bursts. Weapons also play a role in how effective your character can be. Using the wishes and Gacha mechanic, you can get new characters and rare weapons. With the different world and story bosses combined with dungeons to grind for artifacts, you can easily get lost in the world of Teyvat. miHoYo has crafted a game that will no doubt change the gaming landscape.

Blue Protocol

BANDAI NAMCO Studios have been known for producing some of the best anime games to date. But in recent years, they have been working on a large-scale project, unveiled recently as an online open-world RPG with a massive emphasis on the story called Blue Protocol. To many, this might seem like they are trying to follow the success of Genshin, but by seeing the trailer and beta test footage, you can easily see that it has the iconic Bandai gameplay. The narrative is said to be set in a world where once a tribe ruled supreme with divine light. Only ruins remain of their demise, with secrets hiding in the shadows. You will create your character and explore the mystical land.

Combat is skill-based, where you can equip your character with one of six weapons and battle enemies in PvE. Each class is linked with a weapon, and upon changing the weapon, your style will change. From the beta testers and footage, we can easily see that the combat is smooth and requires skill and strategy. Mounts can be summoned to traverse the vast open world. With horde battles and raid bosses confirmed to be present at launch Blue Protocol is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated games of 2023, and hopefully, Bandai Namco will deliver. It is currently only available to the region of Japan, with an international release in 2023.

Temtem

Temtem, by many, is regarded as a Pokemon clone when they see it for the first time, and no doubt it does have some of the same attributes as Pokemon, but it puts an original spin on them, making them feel completely brand new. The story structure is quite simple as you start your adventure by gaining a unique Temtem and going around the floating island to challenge other Temtems trainers and battle the gyms to complete your journey.

The true place where the game shines is the combat and the Temtem. It is turn-based, where you will use two Temtem at a given time to battle your opponents. Each Temtem has four moves, an HP bar, and a replenishing stamina bar. Activities cost Stamina to use, and if you run out, you can use HP to use. It is a robust system that gives players many ways to play and strategize. Co-op and end-game multiple are also significant aspects. With excellent art direction and iconic Temtem designs, it is a great game to play with friends online.
