[General] Best Livestream App for PC 2021 (Tested with Old 2015 PC & Kurtzpel)

#1
Here we mainly focus on the performance of livestream app only, in the points that how light the livestream app is for livestreaming on super low end PC and how well it livestreams smoothly without buffering/lagging.

PC Spec Tested:
CPU - i5-6200U (Released in September 2015)
RAM - 8GB
GPU - Intel® HD Graphics 520 (Released in September 2015)
OS - Windows 10
Storage - 256GB SSD

This is actually a laptop which its weight is less than even 1kg, not even a desktop PC.
I bet you can buy PC like this spec for just 100~200 bucks on ebay or amazon and it is true as below image.

Game Tested:
Kurtzpel

Minimum Spec Required by its Game Developer:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: WINDOWS® 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (64-bit required)
Processor: Intel® Core™ i3 6100 3.7 GHz or AMD Ryzen™ 3 1200 3.1 GHz - these are 20% better CPU than the tested i5-6200U according to cpu.userbenchmark.com
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 750 ti or AMD Radeon™ R7 360 (VRAM 2GB) - these are 320% better GPU than tested HD520 according to gpu.userbenchmark.com
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 30 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectSound (DirectX® 9.0c)
Additional Notes: 1080p/60fps when graphics settings are set to "Low" (720p/60fps when "High")

Average FPS without livestreaming - 30~40 FPS (Playable)
Average FPS while livestreaming - 20~30 FPS (Nearly/Barely Playable)

* FPS when you are in town with lots of players will drop your FPS down to 10~20, but anyways this game doesn't require you to play anything serious in town so I guess it is ok.
* Did you know that consoles such as PS4, Xbox they all play games at 30 FPS on average? So above FPS is also playable.
* When you have a desktop and a laptop with similar gaming performance, the desktop is usually half the price. You may get a desktop PC that runs at 30~40FPS for maybe around $100~150, which is even cheaper.

Following is how I set in-game settings:

Following is how I set Intel HD graphic setting (Skip this if you don't use Intel HD graphic for gaming):

Following is how I set OBS (livestreaming app for PC):

Sample Livestream Record (1 hour long):
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1145686664

* Once you start the livestream using OBS app, make sure you put it into system tray by pressing minimizing buttom. Otherwise, your PC will try to render in the game, and also tries to render a graphic that is captured from the game you livestream. By minimizing the OBS app, it will skip 2nd process mentioned above so it becomes a bit faster. To enable minimizing, check options in red box, and also press minimize button as shown below:

* I personally think OBS is the best and lightest app for low end PC livestreaming. I tried 3 apps, namely Xsplit Broadcastor, Streamlabs OBS, and regular OBS (this is different to Streamlabs OBS). Among them, regular OBS app made the best result for me. The most problem for me was, for Xsplit Broadcastor and Streamlabs OBS, I couldn't be able to find an option for minimizing their apps to system tray plus size of the installation file is bigger than regular OBS. However, they had more features than regular OBS like AFK screen and so on. This means that if your PC is high spec enough that renders at 70+FPS always (Most likely i7+ or Ryzen 7+), you may want them over regular OBS.

Additional Tip if you want to turn on Youtube playlist music while livestreaming:
If you would like to play Youtube musics while playing games, never use other web browsers like Chrome, FireFox. Turning them on using those external web browser will really slow your livestream on low end PC.
Instead, use Steam's internal browser. Press left shift + tab then it will turn on an overlay. There is a web browser option inside the Steam overlay. Use this to play your Youtube playlist and so on. This is a way faster than using external web browser while livestreaming.

Additional Comment:
Well, I tested Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet with this laptop, but it couldn't run well. Avg FPS was like 10~15, quite unplayble.
So if you are going to buy this kind of cheap laptop, all you can play is Kurtzpel or games released before 2016 something.
Hope it helps.
* Phantasy Star Online 2 is also playable with this spec, similar performance as Kurtzpel (Tested with Japanese PSO 2 Only).
* On low end PC, Make sure you shut down all visible program EXCEPT the game in the taskbar, and OBS app in system tray, excluding one anti-virus app that may run on system tray if you have any.
